Thomasville Honda Shoppers Meet 2011 Odyssey

Thomasville Honda shoppers can now test-drive the all-new 2011 Honda Odyssey at Proctor Honda. The new Odyssey breaks down segment barriers with its aggressive stance and sporty “lightning-bolt” beltline.

tallahassee hondaThe Odyssey still boasts what Thomasville Honda shoppers expect: the family-friendliness, the utility, and the spaciousness. But, the Odyssey adds good looks, bold aesthetic flourishes, and advanced technology features, giving minivan drivers more than they would have thought possible.

Lower and wider than last year’s model, Thomasville Honda shoppers will notice that the new aggressive stance also offers more comfortable seating for eight, with more shoulder room and plenty of different configurations for fitting additional passengers, car seats or cargo.

Outside the Odyssey will turn heads with its “lightning bolt” beltline, which gives the minivan a distinctive look that sets it apart from the other minivans on the road. The Odyssey can achieve 19 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and an astonishing 28 mpg on the highway.

Pulling technology into the mix, the Odyssey features a 12-speaker AM/FM/XM/CD Premium Audio System and voice-activated Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation. For entertainment for passengers, the Odyssey has an Ultra-Wide Rear Entertainment System with split-screen capability.

New to the 2011 model are 18-inch alloy wheels, larger ventilated front disc brakes, reworked side mirrors, available HID headlamps, and a power tailgate.

As recent statistics from Edmunds.com show, the Honda Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna are more often comparison-shopped against one another than any of the other minivans on the market. But it’s the Odyssey that has come out on top, outselling the Sienna every year since 2002 except 2004. With an assortment of upgraded style, comfort and technology features, it looks like the 2011 Odyssey is on track to continue it reign over the minivan segment.

Illinois Honda Presents Free Child Seat Inspection

Honda of Joliet, a prominent Illinois Honda dealer, is happy to announce a complimentary child safety seat inspection for local residents on December 9th, 2010.  In a joint effort between Honda of Joliet and the Joliet Police and Fire Departments, residents will be able to drive into this Illinois Honda dealer between the hours of 5 PM and 8 PM for a free inspection.

Law enforcement urges residents to get their child seat inspected to ensure that is properly situated and put together.  On December 9th, residents will be able to bring their vehicles in and learn whether or not their child seat is attached properly.  Not only will residents be given the chance to get their child seats inspected, there will also be local volunteers in place to help parents with how to install a safety seat, check for recalled models/faulty parts, and inspect for any damage, all free of charge.

In the state of Illinois, it is imperative to not only have a child safety seat but to also have it installed properly.  In 2004, legislators passed the Child Passenger Protection Act which states that children under the age of 8 years old must be secured in an approved child restraint system.  Joliet of Honda is committed to making their cars as easily accessible to compliance with this law and has done its best to ensure that other layers of protection exist in their vehicles to further aid child safety.

Improper child safety seats and/or seat belt violations carry stiff penalties in the state of Illinois.  Violators of the law will be cited and ticketed for their offenses.  In the state of Illinois in 2009, 5,388 drivers were convicted of not properly restraining their children in a moving vehicle.  The law is the law and not restraining your child in a proper, approved child safety restraint system will result in needless tickets.

So why is this law so strictly enforced?  This Illinois Honda dealer wants to point out that these child safety seats works.  In 2008, child safety seats and seat belts saved 13,250 lives nationwide.  When used properly, safety seats reduce the risk of death in infants by 71% and 54% for toddlers.

With statistics like this, it only makes sense to take advantage of this special offer from Honda of Joliet.  The volunteers, police officers, and firefighters will be there to give information and train parents on the proper methods.  Twenty minutes out of your day could save the lives of you and your children someday so please come out on December 9th.

If you do plan on attending, the service department is located on left or west side of the dealership.  Please pull up to the double doors which will lead right to the inspection.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call (815) 439-2222 or visit http://www.hondaofjoliet.com for more information.
