Safety

Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone—that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for other vehicle occupants, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road. The Honda Civic GX NGV exemplifies this comprehensive approach to safety.

The Honda Civic GX NGV from Honda is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). One or both of these airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seat-belt usage and other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seat belts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.

All Civics from our Honda dealers are equipped with anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, a tire pressure monitering system, side curtain airbags, daytime running lights, three point seatbelts with an automatic tensioning system and front side airbags with an occupant position detection system.

In government crash testing, the 2010 Honda Civic GX NGV earned a perfect five stars for its protection of occupants in frontal impacts. Side-impact tests resulted in a four-star rating for front passenger protection and five stars for protection of rear passengers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the Civic GX NGV  its top rating of “Good” for the car’s performance in frontal-offset and side-impact tests.

Interior Design and Special Features

The Civic’s dash features an contemporary gauge layout. An analog tachometer is in the traditional location behind the steering wheel, but a digital speedometer and gas gauge reside at the base of the windshield which makes quick visual checks of speed easier. The Honda Civic’s controls are well laid out and easy to operate, and materials are of  outstanding quality. Seats are comfortable front and rear, and the rear floor is flat all the way across, making the middle passenger comfortable. Rear passenger space is quite good for this class. 2010 Civic GX NGV models have 12 cubic feet of trunk space.

For a reliable and enjoyable-to-drive small car, the 2010 Honda Civic GX NGV can’t be beat.
